Jerry Anderson
President | Financial Advisor
Jerry was born and raised on a dairy farm in northeast Arkansas, where he attended Arkansas State University, before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era. After 4 years of military service, Jerry entered the financial services business as a management trainee in St. Louis, MO. Three years later, he was promoted to a sales manager and was transferred to Louisville, KY. During this time, he distinguished himself as a manager and sales leader. He took several estate and business planning courses and became an acknowledged leader and teacher in these areas.
During these early years, Jerry became very close friends with a group of Indian physicians, who had immigrated to Louisville. He and three other of these friends, started a small chain of child care centers and emergency medical centers. These business ventures, while time consuming, expanded his knowledge and expertise in strategies and management of small businesses. This experience has been invaluable in his ability today to render good and sound advice to business owners.
In 1987, Jerry had the opportunity to transfer his base of operations to Kona, Hawaii, where he could work and live in a place where he had always loved. He maintained his relationship with his existing clients in KY and elsewhere and today maintains a securities license in 26 states.
In 1990, he incorporated and renamed his practice The Mutual Fund Store, Inc. In 2011, the corporate name was changed to Anderson Wealth Planning, to reflect a broader range of financial services that the firm provides. The business has dramatically expanded over the years, to include his sons John Anderson, the OSJ and Vice President and Jim Anderson, the Marketing Manager and Vice President and several other great financial advisors and support staff. Our mission statement simply states, "To provide our clients with solid investment planning options and products that are tailored to meet each clients individual needs and to always place their best interest first." Everyone has pledged to uphold that commitment to you.
